RESPONSIVE LITANY

During Advent, God’s light illuminates a weary world,

For any who have grown weary of waiting.

God speaks, “Peace, be still.”

For any who are anxious about the worries of tomorrow:

God speaks, “Peace, be still.”

For any whose lips have been silenced.

God speaks, “Peace, be still.”

            CANDLE LIGHTING

            SONG (choir and congregation)

Lift up your eyes and see the light surround you

With radiant hope, illuminate the night.

Lift up your voice and sing, let earth and heaven ring,

lift up your eyes and see the everlasting light.

THE LORD’S PRAYER                                           UMH 895

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in

heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil,

For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen
